Ageratum is the backbone of summer annual plantings in most other areas of the country. Unfortunately, this plant usually performs poorly in Texas. Still, every spring, I found myself tempted by those incredible blue flowers at my local nursery, only to be disappointed when they perished at the first sign of our inevitable warm summer weather.
Then I tried the ‘Artist’ series of ageratum from Proven Winners. The first year I tried these plants, I was sure there was some mistake. Ageratums should not be in perfect bloom during a hot summer August day, especially in Texas! And they kept producing flowers right up until the first frost.
